Here at G.H.Smith & Son we also publish two newspapers, The Easingwold Advertiser and Weekly News, first published in 1892, and The Thirsk Weekly News, which commenced publication in 2004

Unlike some regional/local newspapers our papers are distinct entities in their own right and are not merely one paper with certain sections changed. The Easingwold Advertiser & Weekly News covers from Coxwold in the North, to Shipton in the South, Farlington in the East, and Helperby in the West, with Easingwold in the centre.

The Thirsk Weekly News covers Thirsk and Sowerby, half way to Northallerton in the North, Thormanby in the South, Coxwold in the East and up to the A1 in the west. Both papers are dated Saturday of each week, The Thirsk Weekly News is available late Wednesday afternoon, cover price 5p, and The Easingwold Advertiser & Weekly News is available late Thursday afternoon, cover price 10p.
